White Oceanside Bungalow

This charming oceanfront retreat is located on Folly Beach, SC. The owner, interior designer Amelia Handegan, while renovating the 1940s oceanside bungalow managed to retain its relaxed character.

Coastal decorating has always embraced the white palette.  In this home the crisp white coastal paneled walls and ceiling give this home an authentic coastal look.  Beautiful antiques and accessories are well edited and add texture to this home.  The accessories are mixed with the soft worn colors that give this home an interesting look with a relaxed feeling.

In the dining area, an antique Swedish table is surrounded by vintage iron chairs; the corner cabinet is English. The custom-made sectional sofa sits in the living room.  In this room an antique Swedish mirror and table are showcased.  The chairs are upholstered in a Pierre Frey cotton.  A guest room decorated with an Indian cotton bedspread and an antique Swedish chest. An antique suzani hangs in a guest room; the headboard is upholstered in Kravet fabric and the walls are painted in Benjamin Moore's Pink Bliss. The curtains and valance are made of burlap.  Another guest room is paneled in natural cypress, with carved four-posters from Bungalow Antiques and side chairs from India.
