White

Decorating with white or gray can be the best color to choose when decorating with collections and antiques. White can unify a space, allowing you to draw focus to other elements in the home.  Are you  the type of person always wanting something new in your space? Do you find yourself always leaving the flea markets with something new in your hand?  Consider a white based interior, which you can switch out seasonal decor, allowing you the change you really crave.

White styled decorating isn't just decorating with one color, but a combination of neutral colors, such as brown, gray and beige.  White also allows you the option of adding more brilliant colors into your space through art, and accessories.  Brighter greens, pinks and vibrant reds can all be worked into a  white room.  White and gray go with almost any color, making it a timeless choice for interiors.  Bring in color through art work, throws, frames, and accent furniture.  White allows you to grow in your interior unlike other colors which you are married to for years.

Vary The Color Of Whites In Your Home

For warmer hues of white such as cream, add darker and lighter accessories with texture.  Consider an knitted accent throw in a darker shades of tan and peach. Throw in some color in your curtains, door and wall accessories and you break the monotony of white.  Take a shade of white, and work with the darker and lighter hues for a layered appearance.

White is one of those shades you can grow with for years. Here are are few pictures with homes decorated around these serene colors

Love white in all its shades. When anything needs renewed or changed in my house, I replace it with white or pale grey. That backdrop allows me to add color by season or by month. Aqua in January, orchid at Easter, turquoise in the Summer, etc. By using white as the base, it only takes three colored items to make the room look that color, a purple pillow, piece of art with purple in it, purple fresh flowers, etc. By switching out the colors frequently, you don’t tire of them. I also love the simplicity of Swedish pieces in a white or grey room — just fabulous and doesn’t go out of style like trendy things.
