The Exceptional Houses of Furlow Gatewood

Furlow Gatewood- Veranda May June 2011

Furlow Gatewood was an exceptional antique buyer who was always on search for the best deal in town.  The man had an eye for style, great design, and craftsmanship.  Furlow was the primary buyer for John Rosselli International in New York City, and brought antiques for over 50 years.

After many years of living in New York City, Furlow moved back to a small rural community of Americus, Gerogia a few years ago, where he had worked on renovating a home he bought at auction, which was later featured in Veranda magazine.

Furlow has a talent for collecting, and displaying decorative objects in a way that represents both a classic taste, and eclectic chic.  He can mix the new with the old in such a way that is very classy, yet modern and brilliant. You wouldn't know this man was in his 90's when he put together this home featured in Veranda!  Oh ya!  He has got it going on!

He clearly possesses a great skill of knowing a sense of proportion and scale as balances the furniture, textiles and color.  Buy his new book that is coming out in March 2014.
