A Book For Lovers of Worn, Rustic All Natural Decorating

Known for his raw antique collections, vintage finds, and natural interiors, stylist Hans Blomquist designs around the earthy elements.  His book, The Natural Home, is an exploration of his personal style which incorporates muted color palettes, salvaged antiques and the art of layering textures and fabrics into the home.  Natural fabrics, foliage, and rustic furniture are paired together in atmospheric rooms of chalky whites, dusty greys and inky blacks to create a home well lived in.   If you are after a textured organic look, The Natural Home that should sit on your coffee table.

Hans Blomquist has directed campaigns for Ikea, Harrods, H&M and Monoprix. The National in an article called "A Minute With: The Swedish stylist Hans Blomquist" revealed some of the designers passions and decorating tips.  Here is a quick glimse of what was said from the article

"It’s difficult to decide who the most important designer of our time is because there are so many talented people out there, but if I had to choose one name, it would be Thonet, the German furniture maker who designed bent wood pieces. It was both innovative and great quality, so his pieces look and feel as good today as they did when they were first made."

"The easiest way to update a space is to move the furniture around. Just rearrange the rooms, and swap pieces of furniture from room to room and you can give your home a totally different and new look."

By Annette Barnes "This book is SO gorgeous I just can't leave it alone! I love the muted, artistic interiors that the author has assembled. As a person very sensitive to color and visual stimulation I am drawn to the
peaceful, quiet rooms he has included. I love his descriptions and his aesthetic. I love how many of the homes have a pared down look and yet are so warm and inviting, and all show such interesting textures. The
workshop he shows is very intriguing as well. I would just love to crawl inside this world he has created, and I find myself noticing some of the things I have done in my own home that are similar and am inspired
by many of his ideas to do more, to be braver. This is my FAVORITE book on home decor that I have ever owned, and I hope to see more from this author in the future!

By kitty kat "This is one amazingly beautiful book.  I love it.  The pictures are earthy and luscious.  The color pallet is truly stunning.  I was hoping that the author had more books available but sadly, this seems to be his
only one.  Bare essentials and great design.  Everything is well loved and cherished.  Everything is appreciated for what it is.  Everything is respected for it's natural elegance and history. This is definitely a
dreamy and delicious book.  A book to be savored and looked through again and again and again.  Don't miss it.
